How is it that so many rich and famous men, particularly athletes, are brought down by accusations of sexual impropriety when either they become more of a pain to deal with our when they outlive their usefulness?
Prior to the 2020 election, Andrew Cuomo, the governor of New York served as a useful foil to then President Donald Trump. Once the election was decided and his usefulness had come to an end, a large number of women have come forward alleging sexual misconduct against a man who by all accounts is a piece of crap anyway. Houston Texans quarterback DeSean Watson is the latest to be accused of sexual misconduct. He has increasingly become a thorn in the side of his NFL employers thus outliving his usefulness.
Just so I’m completely clear, I am not saying that the allegations are false. I simply find it curious that if you are amongst the rich and famous, you need to become increasingly careful not to tip the cost benefit proposition into the negative.
