In case I’ve not said it for the record I am a believer in Jesus Christ. I believe He is the only way to salvation and to heaven. The questions I’m about to ask in no way cast doubt on my faith. They add spice to what I already believe. I’m running each of the following questions against Revelation 3:15-16 15 ‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. 16 So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of My mouth” and Matthew 7:21-23 “21“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Fatherwho is in heaven will enter. 22Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many [s]miracles?’ 23And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; LEAVE ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’
Firstly – What does it mean “to be a man after God’s own heart?” King David was guilty of murder and adultery yet was called a man after God’s own heart. Anecdotally, I can think of many other similar though less egregious examples.
Secondly – Peter denied Jesus three times – PUBLICLY – and yet Jesus himself said that “upon <that> rock He would build his church.”
